Welcome to our first post on our all-new, exclusive platform for all things Diarmuid and Gráinne! This domain will be your go-to for unseen scoop on all things #D&G related, including posts dedicated to characters, costumes, sneak previews of the rehearsal process, and even some unmissable cast interviews! In case all of this exciting content wasn’t enough, we are also active on Facebook and Instagram for those of you who want to follow the show on the go, simply follow @DiarmuidandGrainne and enjoy!

We love myths and legends, and this is why we present to you from the talented Paul Mercier the revised, reimagined and of course riveting version of a classic tale, an enthralling adventure with an edge of modernity that still speaks to its origins. Starting with a fervent fling, audience members will meet Eire’s most effervescent duo who will have you on the edge of your seats. If you have a penchant for love triangles or have sampled every petrol station from Dublin to Galway, this is the performance for you as we join the legendary #D&G on torrid tangents around Leinster and Connaught! If you’re more of a musical fan, fear not, for this performance has covered all areas with a fabulous selection of chorale work from the talented third years at NUI Galway and a score that will keep all entertained! With a snappy, fast-paced plot and some slightly eccentric characters, there is never a dull moment in Diarmuid and Grainne, perfect for those who can’t get enough of an action-packed scene or thriller!


The production will be running in the O’Donoghue theatre in Galway from the 19th -22nd March with an 8pm performance every evening, with the exception of Sunday 22nd which will be a 2pm matinee. Ticket information will be available in the coming weeks and will be posted on all social media outlets when a sale date is released.

Diarmuid And Gráinne: The Facts!

Greetings, all! We’re celebrating midweek with another blog post! While we’re all looking forward to opening night of the spectacular Diarmuid and Gráinne, we know that many of our audience members may be unfamiliar with the tale’s origins. Fear no more, for we have compiled a list of fun facts and interesting D&G trivia! ·       Although this legend tracing as far back as the 10 th century may well be a tale as old as time, the first known stage production of the myth was not performed until 1928 in Galway’s Taibhdhearc theatre. This particular production was coined Diarmuid Agus Gráinne , performed as Gaeilge (the native Irish language) as the Taibhdhearc was known as Ireland’s National Language Theatre.
